Job Summary:
Under guidance and supervision , successfully design, develop, simulate and test hardware products for Cubic which will be used for intelligent travel applications in the transportation industry. The Associate Hardware Design Engineer should be looking to improve through a combination of on-the-job-training and lesson based training.
An element of lone working will be expected as well as supported development from senior engineers within the existing team. The position requires a highly motivated and hands-on team player with an exceptional attention to detail, diligence, and a positive attitude.
This role needs testing and working with hardware lab and equipment, hence this is a hybrid role requiring most of the time to be present at office
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and Test:Performs electrical and electronics design and design modifications for product sustainment and product prototype test fixtures
Conducts or participates in research, design, development, testing, and product sustainment of digital and analog hardware to include circuit design and sub-system integration for designated products and/or customer applications.
BOM preparation, schematic design and capture and assist in PCB layout stack-up planning and review
Designs electronic breadboard systems or circuit concepts to improve performance, reliability, yield, test replacement parts, or to lower costs.
Conducts in-house design reviews and technical meetings
Prepare specification documents, detailed design documents, functional specification documents
Develop test plans, test boards and test fixtures for circuit, component, subsystem, and equipment interfaces
Prepares test requirement and test reports
Designing to requirements including cost, manufacturing ability and reliability
Minimum Job Requirements:
QualificationsEssential:B.E/B.Tech or M.E/M.Tech Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or similar relevant subject or equivalent supported by extensive relevant design experience.
Minimum of 1 to 3 years of design and or testing of hardware/embedded projects
Occasional domestic and international travel is needed
Desirable:Experience in working with industrial/automotive domain or equivalent domain
Familiar with schematic and layout tools, Altium knowledge is highly desirable
Familiar with Autocad
Skills/Experience/Knowledge:Minimum of 3 years of experience in hardware design and testing
Good knowledge of Gbit Ethernet, USB, SPI and I2C interfaces and experience of design and testing of these interfaces
Working experience of using Altium will be added advantage
Should be Familiar with simulation tools
DTC, DFM and DFT experience
Experience of writing Requirement specification, detailed design, test requirement and test report document of high standards
Familiar with usage of various test equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzer etc.,
Good debugging skills

Travel readiness for domestic and international is desired
