SUMMARY: A recognized degree in electrical engineering discipline, from an accredited college or university. Broad progressive relevant work experience of over6 years in basic & detailed engineeringpreferably in an EPCindustry for large industrial plants, power projects, utilities, process plants .Evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.Performs assignments, which have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables for an engineering discipline within a global business unit. JOB DIMENSIONS: A.Supervision Received Receives technical and administrative supervision from an Engineering Supervisor.Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features and possible solutions.Assistance is furnished on unusual problems and work is reviewed for application of acceptable methods and judgment. B.Supervision Exercised Provides technical direction to drafters, designers, technicians and less experienced engineers as directed. C. Contacts Contacts counterpart in other disciplines, supplier/client representatives and project field personnel when directed, to either gather or give information. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: A.Performs electrical discipline work which involves the preparation, interpretation or review of calculations, specifications, electrical layout plans including lighting and grounding, investigations, surveys, structures, systems or equipment with relatively few complex features. B.Participates in one or more of the following: 1.Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL) 2.Equipment design and development 3.System design, including concept sketches and layouts 4.Testing of materials 5.Preparation of specifications and design calculations 6.Reviewing and checking designs, drawings and data by other engineers or by suppliers 7.Preparation or review of engineering studies and reports 8.Preparation or review of material quantity estimates 9.Uses engineering computer aided design/computer aided engineering (CAD/CAE) tools C.Prepares letters for replies to vendor correspondence. D.Monitors project controls within discipline. E.Reviews design documents of equipment manufacturers or subcontractors of a moderate degree of complexity and prepares comments & recommendations. F.Assists in preparation of forecasts, quantity take-offs and change orders. JOB KNOWLEDGE: A minimum of 5 years' experience in Design and Engineering, preferably in an EPC industry. Grade 23: 5 Years+ of minimum relevant experience Grade 24 : 9 years+of minimum relevant experience Technical knowledge of engineering systems, engineering calculations, applications of engineering methods and construction methods and materials, and application of computer aided engineering (CAE)/computer aided design (CAD) tools to engineering problems. Experience of preparing technical specifications, datasheets, material requisitions and vendor print reviewsfor various electrical equipment Knowledge of SPEL for preparation of load list, MCC schedule etc. Experience in various electrical layouts like grounding, raceways and lighting etc. Knowledge of Building Power Management which includes controlling and monitoring of Building's mechanical and electrical equipment such as HVAC, lighting, power systems, fire systems, access control and security systems. Review of 3D Model in S3D and Autodesk Revit using SPR or Navisworks and be a stakeholder in 30%, 50% and 90% Model Reviews with Client, Vendor and Sub Contractors. Knowledge of project controls within discipline. Good knowledge of major industry or regulatory standards and design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline. Basic skill in oral and written communication.
