Reporting To: Senior Design Engineer / Design Manager
Key Responsibilities
Design mechanical components of transformers including tanks, covers, radiators, conservators, clamping structures, and accessories.
Prepare GA, fabrication, and assembly drawings.
Perform mechanical calculations for tank strength, vacuum, short-circuit, lifting, and jacking loads.
Coordinate with electrical design to ensure overall design compatibility.
Ensure compliance with IEC, IS, IEEE, ANSI, and customer specifications.
Provide technical support to manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams; resolve shop-floor issues.
Review vendor drawings and optimize designs for cost, material usage, and manufacturability.
Maintain design documentation, BOMs, and manage engineering changes (ECR/ECO).
Support testing, project execution, customer queries, inspections, and audits.
Education :
Diploma / Draughtsman in Mechanical Engineering
Experience:
2-5 years of experience in transformer mechanical design (distribution or power transformers)
Fresh graduates may be considered for junior engineer roles.
