Engineer, Identity & Access Management (IAM), Chennai

In this role, you will design, implement, and support identity governance and administration capabilities using SailPoint IdentityNow and the Atlas platform. You will work closely with application owners, IAM operations, and security stakeholders to onboard applications, automate user lifecycle events, and ensure access is governed, auditable, and aligned with business needs. This role requires a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex integration challenges and improving identity processes at enterprise scale.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and support daily IAM operations including provisioning, de-provisioning, access reviews, and role-based access control. Assist in integrating IAM solutions with enterprise applications and implementing RBAC strategies. Enforce organizational policies and procedures to ensure only authorized personnel have access to information in compliance. Identify and disable dormant accounts and remove access for users who no longer require it. Work on Privileged Access Management (PAM) tools such as CyberArk and work on cloud-based access controls across Azure, AWS, and GCP. Support Identity Governance activities in Azure, including group creation/modification and MFA exclusions for non-human accounts. Gain hands-on experience with SailPoint, focusing on identity management, access profiles, and recertification processes. Investigate and help resolve IAM-related incidents or potential breaches. Troubleshoot and resolve IAM-related issues across platforms like Active Directory, Azure AD, AWS, GCP, and SailPoint.

Qualifications

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Identity and Access Management or related security engineering roles. Hands-on experience implementing and supporting identity governance and administration solutions in a global enterprise environment. Strong experience with SailPoint IdentityNow, including application onboarding, identity sources, provisioning, access requests, and certifications. Working knowledge of IAM integrations using SCIM, REST APIs, JDBC, and directory services such as Active Directory and Entra ID. Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues across integrations, workflows, and provisioning pipelines. Ability to evaluate solutions based on scalability, maintainability, security, and alignment with enterprise architecture. Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills, able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong command of spoken and written English to support collaboration across a global workforce. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or equivalent practical experience. Relevant certifications (e.g., SailPoint, IAM, Cloud, or Security certifications) are a plus.
