Purpose of Role: The Cyclone Technology Group will be a new group formed under the Minerals Division with a focussed attention on product development and contributing towards the business priority in the Cyclone market segment. The role demands the candidate to be proficient in the fundamentals of Machine Design and concept development for the product enhancement, preferable Cyclones.

Compliance with all defined Roles, Responsibilities and Accountabilities (RRAs) as documented by Separation Technology Group for the assigned position. \xe2\x80\x8b\xe2\x80\x8b

• Designing Hydrocyclone / Process equipment by developing 3D component models, 2D drawings and 3D product assemblies using Siemens NX in accordance with the Weir Minerals Division Draughting Manual with limited supervision.
• Assess current Hydrocyclone designs, as well as failure reports, and create design improvements.
• Interact as part of a global R&D and NPD (New Product Development) team to successfully deliver global product development projects.
• Checking of existing drawings and part lists in AutoCAD and NX formats, in accordance with Weir Minerals process controls.
• Make use of and develop smart CAD tools in order to improve design lead times and improve efficiency and quality.
• Use NX to an advanced level (Advanced modelling techniques including sweeps, part families, expressions etc)
• Updating and revising of manufacturing and general arrangement drawings, in NX formats.
• Responsibly executing all project data within the PLM system (Teamcenter).
• Understand and interpret technical drawings.
• Work under the Mentorship of a Senior Engineer and working with other Advanced/Senior Draughtspersons.
• Protect Intellectual Property (IP) in accordance with Weir Minerals Division requirements.
• Perform design work in accordance with the relevant national and international design standards where required.

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field and 8 to 10 years relevant work experience required in mechanical machine design in the areas of: mining, construction or separation equipment or heavy industry is required.

• High level of competency to include but not limited to, the use of the following engineering tools: NX, AutoCAD, Siemens GPDM/Teamcenter, ANSYS.

• Independent project execution experience is required.
• The engineer should have good machine Design experience and knowledge to design mineral processing equipment (Hydrocyclones preferred) with good competency and design intent. Hands on experience on design calculations from first principles to analyze the product performance. Experience on NPD/VAVE of process equipment will be essential and experienced in the assembly and componentlevel of products considering all aspects of form, fit and function of the system.

• Good knowledge and experience in welding and machining process is a must.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Familiarity with good manufacturing and assembly processes for Separation Equipment is required. Must have good commonsense based mechanical aptitude, with documented hands on experience throughout their working career.
