Job Description


Reports To :- Crop Harvesting Team Leader

1) Job Purpose: - Through its people and brands, CNH Industrial delivers power, technology and innovation to farmers, builders and drivers all around the world. Each of its brands, including Case IH, New Holland Agriculture, Case and New Holland Construction, Capital, and Parts & Service, is a major international force in its specific sector.

The design engineer is responsible for designing all components around the base engine as installed in a harvesting machine. That includes the engine supporting frame, air intake, exhaust and aftertreatment system, cooling package, fuel system, pneumatic system and engine guards. The selected candidate will support design development starting from concept phase until design release, initiate FEA and CFD simulations to the DAS team, mechanical issue resolutions as well as engine error and lab test analysis to come to an optimal design.

Position Responsibility : Manage all aspects of Engine Installation related work

3) JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: -

Develop designs, layouts, and drawings in support of the Platform objectives for new products and current product maintenance, quality improvement, cost reductions, CPI design and manufacturing issue resolution support. Support the execution of project plans and schedule consistent with meeting product line objectives.

Utilize appropriate engineering techniques and considerations of manufacturing processes and technology to produce innovative and cost-effective design solutions considering applicable safety and environmental regulations and standards.

Issue work orders for prototype builds and follow up during execution in the prototype shop.

Issue test requests for dyno and other lab and field test activities on the engine installation and analyze the results.

Support Engineering and Manufacturing Launch activities for new products, ensuring complete documentation to support build resolution.

Identify and collect information pertinent to engineering calculations to analyze and resolve design problems.

Effective communication of issues/ideas/concepts and solutions.

  • Work effectively with Supplier Quality/Manufacturing to ensure designs are efficient for manufacturing and able to meet quality requirements.
  • Support and drive any warranty reduction of quality improvement initiatives, PIRs, related to Engine installations.
  • Communicate in a structured and clear way across platforms and product lines and work closely together with the other PE&V teams to strive for optimal results. Implement the CNH Industrial Reliability process during product t development from Concept to Launch in collaboration with program teams

Multiple program/platform teams at different GPLs (local & global)

Some contacts with external suppliers as needed

5) Qualification, Age and Experience: -

Education-

Bachelor or master\xe2\x80\x99s degree, preferably in mechanical engineering, or equivalent by experience.

Professional Qualification-

Knowledge of structural analysis and mechanical systems

A background with engine and emission related technology is desirable

Knowledge of Creo is essential.

You like challenges and are good in problem solving

Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a global team

Knowledge of English (both verbal\xe2\x80\x99s as written).

  • Experienced in implementing all aspects of Engine Installations in New Product Development Programs from Concept to Launch (Preferably on Harvester or other AG vehicles).
  • Able to work with employees from many different disciplines within CNH Ind globally
  • Proficient in applying RCA tools & techniques to find solution for issues related to product performance/field failure/supplier end component development, analysis on specific issues / projects.
  • Excellent capabilities in Program management & facilitation skills while working on multiple programs, sites
  • Able to effectively communicate with management and peers globally (verbal & written).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with an open and collaborative mindset.
