Job Description

What success looks like in this role:

  • Should have hands on experience working on various backup tools majorly on Veeam and Avamar backup software and Data Domain.
  • Monitoring and reporting the daily backup jobs and success rate.
  • Day-day monitoring, health checks and performance analysis on backup infrastructure.
  • Ensure troubleshooting in the event of errors and backup problems, analyze and resolve and the root causes, collaborate with various teams as needed.
  • Bring in automation and optimization through innovative ideas.
  • Physical datacenter support for Backup equipment.
  • Participate in the assessment of new requirements, design, and technical standards.
  • Actively participate in Global projects and initiatives.
  • Perform security patches and updates to backup hardware and software as needed
  • Manage and maintain all backup equipment including Data Domain.
  • Ensure replication and deduplication functions as configured.
  • Configure and manage VMware, Hyper-V snapshot backups.
  • Restore the data in case of corruption/loss.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection standards and internal policies.
  • Work with vendors on support cases when required.
  • Create backup documents as and when required.
  • Basic working knowledge on Windows, VMware, Hyper-V, Storage & Linux.

You will be successful in this role if you have:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of overall experience backup competency and at least 2-3 years of hands on/relative experience in Veeam and Avamar software.
  • Should be a graduate / hold a bachelor's degree (B.E/B.Tech, MCA) .
  • Good to have a backup certification.
  • Flexible working hours if required/ rotational shifts.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with Global teams, end users and inter-teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and presentation skills.
  • Quickly learn, adapt, and contribute.
  • Ability to design techniques and methodologies to solve unprecedented problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team, managers, and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to take the initiative and focus on customer service.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to high quality work.
