Energy Optimisation Engineer

Year    Remote, IN, India

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Energy Optimisation Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will work on analysing energy systems, identifying optimisation opportunities, and implementing smart control strategies through our digital platforms.

You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across data analytics, sustainability, and engineering to deliver measurable energy efficiency and carbon reduction outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Here's what you'd be expected to do. You can pick and choose/adjust based on exactly what Arnowa wants. These are drawn from benchmarked roles + what matches with your earlier draft, enriched.

Conduct detailed energy audits of buildings, industrial facilities, and precincts to identify performance gaps and improvement opportunities across systems such as HVAC, lighting, and process energy. Analyse historical and real-time data from meters and IoT sensors to uncover patterns, load profiles, anomalies, and potential inefficiencies using statistical and visualisation tools. Develop and model energy usage scenarios, assessing energy conservation measures and quantifying expected savings for retrofit and new design applications. Propose, design, and evaluate energy optimisation measures -- including automation and controls, BMS/EMS integration, variable speed drives, renewable energy, storage, and demand-side management solutions. Prepare technical and financial assessments including cost-benefit analysis, payback periods, and ROI projections to support investment decisions. Oversee implementation and verification of optimisation initiatives, ensuring projected savings and performance targets are achieved. Maintain and enhance digital tools, dashboards, and analytics workflows to support continuous improvement and reporting. Stay informed on emerging technologies, standards, and regulatory trends, integrating relevant innovations into ongoing projects. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams -- including engineering, operations, data analytics, and sustainability -- to ensure seamless project delivery and integration of technical solutions. Support documentation and compliance with applicable energy and efficiency standards such as ISO 50001, NABERS, and national and international energy codes.

Essential:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Energy, or Environmental Engineering (or a related discipline). 2-4 years of relevant experience in energy management, performance optimisation, or building and industrial systems. Strong understanding of energy systems, efficiency principles, and performance benchmarking. Proven experience analysing large datasets from metering, IoT, or automation systems to derive actionable insights. Proficiency with analytical and visualisation tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Python. Ability to interpret technical data and communicate findings clearly through reports and presentations. Strong problem-solving, coordination, and collaboration skills, particularly within remote and cross-functional teams. Self-driven, organised, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, digital work environment.

Desirable:

Exposure to automation, predictive analytics, or AI-based optimisation in energy systems. Experience with digital platforms such as BMS, EMS, or IoT-based energy monitoring solutions. Knowledge of renewable integration, energy storage, and demand-side management strategies. Familiarity with standards such as ISO 50001, NABERS, or national energy codes. Professional certifications such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM), LEED AP, or equivalent credentials.
