An Endodontist is a dental specialist responsible for diagnosing and treating tooth pain and performing root canal treatments and other procedures relating to the interior of the tooth. The role requires precision, advanced clinical expertise, and a compassionate approach to patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat oral health conditions related to dental pulp and root tissues.
Perform root canal treatments, endodontic surgeries, and other related procedures with a high standard of care.
Examine dental X-rays, CBCT scans, and other diagnostic tools to evaluate conditions.
Manage complex and emergency cases, including retreatments of failed root canals.
Prescribe medications, antibiotics, and post-treatment care instructions.
Educate patients about their treatment options, outcomes, and preventive care.
Maintain detailed and accurate patient records.
Collaborate with general dentists, prosthodontists, periodontists, and other specialists for comprehensive patient care.
Ensure compliance with infection control, sterilization protocols, and clinical safety standards.
Stay updated with new techniques, technologies, and continuing dental education.
Skills & Qualifications
BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) and MDS in Endodontics (or equivalent recognized qualification).
Valid dental license/registration from the Dental Council of India (or relevant authority).
Proven experience as an Endodontist (minimum [X] years preferred).
Strong clinical expertise in advanced root canal treatments and microsurgical techniques.
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills with patients and team members.
Compassionate, patient-focused, and detail-oriented.
Working Conditions
Part-time depending on clinic requirement.
Clinical setup with modern endodontic equipment and technologies (microscope, apex locator, rotary instruments, etc.).
May require flexible working hours including weekends or extended shifts depending on patient needs.
Valid dental license/registration from the Dental Council of India (or relevant authority).
