Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Assessment & Initial Management

Perform rapid assessment of patients arriving at the Emergency Department. Stabilize critically ill or injured patients following established emergency protocols (ACLS/BLS/ATLS). Initiate appropriate investigations and interpret clinical findings.

2. Emergency Procedures

Perform essential emergency procedures such as intubation, CPR, IV line insertion, catheterization, suturing, gastric lavage, etc. Assist in trauma management, cardiac emergencies, poisoning cases, and other critical situations.

3. Coordination & Communication

Coordinate with consultants/specialists for further management of emergency cases. Communicate clearly and effectively with patient attendants regarding the condition and necessary interventions.

4. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, patient records, and treatment notes. Ensure proper handover during shift changes.

5. Monitoring & Follow-up

Continuously monitor patient vitals, progress, and response to treatment. Ensure timely intervention in case of deterioration.

6. Compliance & Standards

Adhere to hospital protocols, emergency care guidelines, and infection control standards. Participate in audits, quality improvement programs, and emergency drills.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

MBBS

Registration:

Valid registration with [Medical Council Name or Licensing Body].

Experience:

Minimum 4 years of experience in emergency medicine or a hospital setting.

Skills:

Strong clinical judgment, emergency decision-making, team coordination, and communication skills.
