Job Description

The Assistant Professor in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Technology (EMCCT) is a faculty position focused on educating, training, and mentoring students in the advanced skills required for emergency medical care and critical care technologies. The individual will be responsible for teaching theoretical concepts and practical skills related to emergency medicine, trauma care, life support, and the use of critical care technologies. Additionally, the role includes research responsibilities to contribute to the advancement of the field and ensure that students are equipped with the latest knowledge and practical skills.

Key Responsibilities:



Teaching and Instruction:

Deliver high-quality lectures, practical demonstrations, and clinical teaching in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care Technology. Develop and update the curriculum to integrate the latest advancements in emergency medicine, critical care procedures, and technologies. Teach students how to manage and operate critical care equipment, such as ventilators, defibrillators, and monitoring devices. Engage in problem-based learning (PBL) and case-based discussions to enhance critical thinking and decision-making skills in emergency situations. Supervise students in clinical rotations, providing guidance in emergency departments and critical care units.

Research and Scholarly Activities:

Conduct research in the areas of emergency medical care, trauma management, life support techniques, and the integration of technology in critical care. Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at academic and professional conferences. Secure research funding for emergency medicine and critical care technology-related projects. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on cutting-edge research and clinical trials.

Clinical Supervision and Mentorship:

Supervise and mentor students during their hands-on clinical training in emergency and critical care settings (e.g., hospitals, trauma centers). Provide guidance on emergency medical procedures, including airway management, CPR, trauma resuscitation, and pharmacology in emergencies. Ensure students gain competency in operating critical care technologies, such as cardiac monitors, ventilators, and infusion pumps.

Curriculum Development and Assessment:

Design and develop course syllabi, assessments, and practical exams that measure student learning outcomes. Keep course materials and content up-to-date with the latest medical advancements, practices, and technologies. Participate in the accreditation process for the EMCCT program and help develop program standards.

Academic Support and Student Advising:

Advise students on academic matters and career paths in emergency medicine, critical care, and healthcare technology. Provide guidance and support to students working on clinical research projects, case studies, and capstone projects.

Professional Development and Service:

Actively participate in professional development activities to maintain expertise in emergency medicine, critical care, and healthcare technology. Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars related to emergency medical technology and critical care. Contribute to departmental meetings, committees, and university service.

Collaboration and Networking:

Establish and maintain collaborations with hospitals, healthcare institutions, and industry partners. Foster relationships with other academic departments, research teams, and healthcare professionals to enhance the program's offerings. Work closely with clinicians and healthcare providers to ensure that the curriculum aligns with real-world practices and needs.

Qualifications:



Educational Requirements:

A Master's or Ph.D. in Emergency Medicine, Critical Care Technology, Healthcare, or a closely related field. Certification in Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, or similar specialized certifications (e.g., ACLS, BLS, ATLS). Preference for candidates with advanced degrees (e.g., Ph.D.) or specialized training in emergency medicine, trauma care, or critical care technology.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹135,265.61 per month
