Job Title: Embedded Systems Lead
Job description
Seasoned and Dynamic Technical Lead with expertise in embedded platforms, specializing in Qualcomm processors, Linux kernel internals, migration, BSP development, and device drivers. This role demands strong leadership capabilities - The role involves bootloaders, driver development, kernel migration, system optimization and mentor a growing team to ensure a stable and fully functional OpenWRT environment on target hardware.
The applicant should have deep expertise in Linux kernel development, bootloaders, device trees, Qualcomm SoCs, and the OpenWRT build system.
Key Responsibilities:

• Perform board bring-up of OpenWRT on Qualcomm SoCs (or similar in the Mobile domain).
• Integrate and configure U-Boot or other bootloaders for Qualcomm SoCs.
• Develop and/or port drivers for SoC peripherals (e.g., Wi-Fi, Ethernet, GPIO, SPI, I2C, UART).
• Customize and optimize Linux kernel and device trees for specific chipsets, board variants.
• Integrate Wi-Fi drivers (e.g., ath11k, QCA drivers), ensure wireless subsystem functionality.
• Enable networking protocols like IPv4-6, VLANs, NAT, Firewall, and QoS under OpenWRT.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.

Experience

• 7-12 years in Embedded Linux or Android platform, Kernel Driver development.
• Hands-on experience with OpenWRT
• Experience with bootloader and kernel porting on ARM-based SoCs.
• Work with Qualcomm SDKs, BSPs (e.g., QSDK), and proprietary firmware blobs.
• Good knowledge of Layer 2 / 3 Networking protocols on Linux
• Solid skills in C, Shell scripting, and Compilation environment

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Previous experience bringing up OpenWRT on Qualcomm IPQ or MSM series.
• Experience working with Android-based Qualcomm BSPs and migrating to OpenWRT.
