Embedded Architect



The Embedded Architect will be responsible for defining and owning the architecture of complex embedded systems, from concept to deployment. This role involves deep technical expertise in embedded hardware and firmware, strong system-level thinking, and the ability to translate customer requirements into scalable, robust solutions. The architect will also provide technical leadership to teams, ensuring quality, performance, and timely delivery.


Key Responsibilities



Define system and software architecture for embedded solutions, considering performance, scalability, power, and reliability. Collaborate with customers to gather requirements, clarify needs, and propose technical solutions. Prepare technical proposals, including effort estimations for firmware and system-level components. Guide teams in the design, development, integration, and troubleshooting of embedded systems. Own end-to-end delivery of projects with multiple modules (firmware, drivers, applications). Ensure best practices in embedded development, code quality, and system performance optimization. Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and architectural reviews across projects. Collaborate with hardware teams during board bring-up and system validation. Stay updated with new technologies, tools, and industry trends in embedded and IoT domains.


Mandatory Skills



10+ years in embedded product development, with at least 2+ years in an architect/lead role. Strong expertise in Embedded C/C++ and firmware development on microcontrollers & microprocessors. Proven experience in Linux internals (kernel, processes, threads, scheduling, synchronization, IPC). Hands-on experience with Linux device drivers, bootloaders, BSPs, and Yocto build systems. Solid understanding of embedded peripherals (GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART, DMA, ADC/DAC, PWM, Interrupts). Strong debugging and board bring-up skills. Exposure to power and thermal design considerations in embedded systems. Experience in proposal preparation, effort estimation, and project scoping. Basic project management skills with industry-standard tools and processes.


Preferred Skills



Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and lead cross-functional teams. Knowledge of IoT architectures, cloud integration, and real-time systems.
