Job Description

The Elementary School Tutor will provide personalized, one-on-one academic support to young learners. The role includes planning engaging lessons, strengthening foundational concepts, and helping students improve performance in core subjects while building confidence and study skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Personalized Instruction

Provide one-on-one or small-group tutoring in core subjects (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, etc.). Identify each student's strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. Create customized lesson plans and learning activities based on student needs. Reinforce classroom learning and help with homework and assignments.

2. Academic Support & Assessment

Monitor student progress through quizzes, worksheets, and regular feedback. Prepare students for tests and exams. Track performance and maintain tutoring logs and progress reports.

3. Student Engagement

Make learning enjoyable with interactive, creative teaching methods. Use visual aids, digital tools, and hands-on activities where appropriate. Encourage critical thinking, curiosity, and problem-solving skills.

4. Communication & Co-ordination

Coordinate with academic coordinators for scheduling and curriculum guidance. Participate in training sessions and team meetings if assigned.

5. Professional Responsibilities

Maintain a positive, patient, and encouraging learning environment. Manage time effectively to ensure productive tutoring sessions. Maintain professional ethics, punctuality, and confidentiality.

Qualifications & Skills

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Education or relevant subject area.

Skills:

Strong subject knowledge for elementary-level content. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and ability to connect with children. Creative teaching approach and strong problem-solving skills. Familiarity with digital tools and online tutoring platforms. Must have online teaching experience

Experience:

2 years of tutoring or teaching experience preferred
