Role Overview
The Electronics Incoming Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of all incoming electronic components, including IoT devices, Battery Management Systems (BMS), wiring harnesses, and Li-ion cells. This role involves performing detailed inspections, verifying compliance with specifications, and conducting root cause analysis on non-conforming parts. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in data management, statistical analysis, and process improvement to support the continuous improvement of supplier quality.
Role Description and Key Responsibilities
The role involves tasks including but not limited to -
Perform thorough incoming inspections of electronic components such as IoT devices, BMS, wiring harnesses, and battery cells to ensure conformance with specifications.
Conduct detailed visual, and electrical testing on components to identify any defects or deviations from design specifications.
Collaborate with suppliers to communicate non-conformance issues, drive corrective actions, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and failure analysis (FA) for any defective components, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Maintain accurate documentation of inspection results, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions taken.
Develop and implement incoming quality control plans and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent quality standards.
Use basic data management tools (such as Excel or quality management software) to track trends in incoming material quality, analyze data, and identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to identify critical components and define key inspection criteria.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and company policies during inspections.
Provide feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement in supplier processes and materials.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience in quality control or quality engineering within the electronics manufacturing industry.
Desired Skills and Attributes
Proficiency in root cause analysis methodologies such as 8D, 5 Whys, or Fishbone Diagram.
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
Proficiency in data management and analysis using software such as Microsoft Excel or quality control software.
