Electronics Design Engineer

Year    KL, IN, India

Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated

Electronics Design Engineer

to join our product engineering team. The ideal candidate will play a key role throughout the

entire product development

testing, and supporting mass production. The role demands strong theoretical foundations, practical hands-on skills, and the ability to design robust electronics systems for advanced robotic and automation products.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Requirement Analysis

Understand product concepts, functional requirements, and customer needs. Convert product-level requirements into system-level and circuit-level design specifications. Evaluate feasibility, technologies, and architecture options for new designs. Collaborate with mechanical, software, and robotics teams for cross-functional requirement mapping.

Electronics Circuit & Hardware Design

Develop analog, digital, mixed-signal, sensor-interface, and power electronics circuits. Perform schematic design using industry-standard EDA tools (Altium, KiCad, Eagle, etc.). Select components based on performance, cost, lifetime, availability, and manufacturability. Optimize BOM for cost, performance, reliability, and supply chain continuity. Design circuits involving microcontrollers, communication interfaces, power stages, signal conditioning, and high-precision circuitry. Work with BLDC, stepper, servo motor drivers, high-power drives, and motor-control electronics. Apply high-speed design principles for interfaces like USB, SPI, UART, I2C, and differential signals.

PCB Design & Hardware Integration

Design multilayer PCBs with good routing, grounding, thermal, and EMI/EMC practices. Ensure PCB layout meets creepage/clearance, impedance control, and manufacturability guidelines. Work closely with mechanical designers for

3D mechanical fit

, enclosure integration, and assembly constraints. Use 3D PCB-to-mechanical CAD tools to validate mechanical fit (STEP/IGES alignment).

Embedded Systems & Firmware (Beginner to Intermediate)

Develop basic embedded programs for testing and validating designed hardware. Work with microcontrollers (ESP32, STM32, PIC, AVR, ARM Cortex series). Write simple drivers, communication routines, and hardware bring-up code. Support embedded team for deeper firmware development when required.

Testing, Validation & Debugging

Perform hardware bring-up, validation, and characterization of designed boards. Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, function generators, and other lab equipment. Debug circuit-level issues and perform root-cause analysis. Validate sensor performance, actuator control, motor drive efficiency, noise immunity, and power behavior. Create test plans, test reports, and maintain documentation for internal and production use.

Production Support & Lifecycle Management

Support prototype build, pilot production, and final manufacturing. Collaborate with vendors, PCB fabricators, and assembly houses. Ensure designs meet

EMI/EMC, ESD, safety, and reliability

standards. Implement design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) best practices. Update revisions, maintain documentation, and support product improvements over lifecycle.

Required QualificationsEducation & Experience

Bachelor's degree in

Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, ECE

, or related fields. 2 + years of experience in

electronics circuit design, PCB design, embedded systems, or hardware engineering

. Experience in automation, robotics, consumer electronics, or embedded products is highly preferred. Demonstrated experience designing and developing real hardware projects.

Technical Skills

Strong understanding of electronic components, circuits, sensors, actuators, and signal processing. Proficiency in schematic design and PCB CAD tools (Altium, KiCad, Eagle, OrCAD, etc.). Hands-on experience in PCB layout, component selection, and BOM preparation. Practical knowledge of DC/DC converters, motor drivers, H-bridges, gate drivers, high-current circuits. Familiarity with BLDC, stepper, and servo motor systems and related drives. Knowledge of embedded systems fundamentals, microcontrollers, and communication protocols. Beginner-level embedded programming (C/C++, Arduino, ESP-IDF, STM32Cube, etc.). Understanding of EMI/EMC design practices and thermal considerations for PCB design. Experience using test and measurement equipment.

Core Competencies

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills. Ability to convert abstract ideas into practical circuit designs. Cross-functional collaboration with software, mechanical, and robotics teams. Ability to manage multiple designs and work under tight timelines. Good documentation, communication, and presentation skills.

Personal Attributes

Passion for electronics, innovation, and product design. Highly detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership. Hands-on attitude and willingness to work with prototypes and lab equipment. Adaptability to changing project requirements and technologies. Commitment to continuous learning and technical excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with high-speed design, impedance control, and differential routing. Knowledge of compliance standards (CE, FCC, IEC, ISO). Experience with robotics, motion control, motor tuning, or automation systems. Knowledge of DFM/DFA, PCB fabrication processes, and electronic assembly standards (IPC). Experience designing complex multi-board systems. Experience with simulation tools (LTspice, PSpice, ANSYS, etc.).

Key Performance Indicators

Quality and reliability of designed circuits and PCBs. Number of design iterations required for production readiness. Timely completion of design phases and documentation. Reduction in BOM cost through optimized component selection. Successful completion of hardware validation and compliance tests. Issue resolution time during testing and production.
