Electronic engineering is a subfield of electrical engineering focused on the design, development, and testing of electronic circuits, devices, and systems, including components like integrated circuits and transistors, which are used to control and amplify electric current. It applies knowledge of the electromagnetic spectrum and utilizes electronic technology to create a wide range of products, from consumer electronics and computers to telecommunications systems and medical devices, driving innovation in fields like information technology. Key Aspects Focus on Low-Voltage Systems: Unlike traditional electrical engineering, which deals with high-voltage power generation and distribution, electronic engineering concentrates on low-voltage applications and smaller, more complex electronic components and systems. Use of Active Components: A hallmark of electronics is the use of active components, such as semiconductors, to amplify and control electrical signals, a key distinction from earlier electrical engineering that relied on passive devices.
