Design, development and testing of electrical and/or electronic components for use within machines and engine systems.Responsibilities

  • Overseeing compliance with development processes and regulations for electrical and electronic systems and components.
  • Investigating and troubleshooting all technical issues related to electrical and electronic systems and components.
  • Managing and negotiating with electrical and electronic equipment vendors for the development of systems and components.
  • Mentoring craftsmen, technicians and engineers in the development of electrical and electronic systems and components.
  • Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.

Electronics Engineering - HTH: Knowledge of electronics engineering; ability to design, test and manufacture electronic circuits, components and devices.

  • Interprets alternative interfaces between hardware and software and associated requirements and considerations.

Product Design - HTH: Knowledge of and the ability to utilize design tools (e.g. CAD) to convert customer and market requirements into a product design.

  • Trains others on major processes of product design; directs the conception of each component.
  • Advises others on the development of multiple products and their architectures.

Mechanical Engineering - MFG: Knowledge of mechanical engineering processes, techniques and methods; ability to design and implement machines and other mechanical devices that safely realize a desired objective or invention.

  • Trains others on most components of mechanical engineering related to manufacturing.
  • Works with various complex mechanical engineering operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Determines the action plan of installation, testing and maintenance solutions for mechanical systems.
  • Evaluates the performance of mechanical operations; finds opportunities to make improvements.
  • Contacts equipment vendors to arrange regular maintenance and technical support services for machines, devices and instruments.
  • Builds an integration solution for all mechanical systems and processes for a manufacturing organization.
Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing and product development environment.

  • Evaluates business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution.
  • Resolves difficult or high-impact equipment and systems problems.
  • Monitors machine performance and history; addresses excessive maintenance or repair needs.
