Job summary

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and lighting across all areas of a busy retail mall to ensure safe, reliable operation and minimal disruption to tenants and shoppers.

Key responsibilities

Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical power distribution, lighting, and control systems in mall common areas, service corridors, parking, and back?of?house spaces. Respond promptly to electrical faults, outages, or safety issues, diagnosing problems with testing tools and replacing or repairing wiring, fixtures, switches, panels, or other components. Perform routine preventive maintenance on lighting circuits, emergency lighting, exit signs, fire?alarm related power supplies, and motors or control systems for escalators/elevators, HVAC, or pumps as applicable. Read and interpret electrical drawings, building layouts, and technical schematics to locate circuits, plan repairs, or carry out new installations or modifications. Coordinate with facility managers, security, contractors, and store tenants to schedule work with minimal impact on operations, including evenings or weekends when areas are less busy. Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable codes, safety standards, and internal procedures; document service, repairs, and tests performed. Assist in upgrades or additions to electrical systems, including energy?efficient lighting retrofits, power load adjustments, or infrastructure improvements.
