to join our hospital's maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have at least
3 years of hands-on experience
in electrical systems, preferably in a
healthcare or hospital environment
. The electrician will be responsible for
installing, maintaining, and repairing
electrical systems and equipment to ensure uninterrupted power and safety across critical hospital areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and emergency
electrical maintenance and repairs
in accordance with hospital safety standards.
Install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, circuit breakers, control panels, and lighting systems.
Monitor and maintain
electrical panels, UPS systems, generators, transformers, and emergency power systems
.
Ensure uninterrupted power supply to
critical care units (ICU, OT, NICU, etc.)
and other sensitive areas.
Conduct
preventive maintenance
as per schedule and maintain maintenance records.
Identify and troubleshoot electrical faults and take corrective actions promptly.
Coordinate with facility and biomedical teams to ensure integrated support across departments.
Ensure
compliance with NABH/JCI
and hospital safety guidelines.
Respond to breakdowns and service calls during and outside working hours when required.
Maintain proper inventory of electrical spares and tools.
Adhere to
infection control
and
hospital safety protocols
while working in patient care areas.
Required Qualifications:
ITI (Industrial Training Institute)
certification in Electrical or relevant trade.
Minimum of
3 years of relevant experience
, preferably in hospitals or healthcare institutions.
Strong understanding of
electrical systems, load management, earthing systems
, and safety devices.
Experience with
HT/LT panels
,
DG sets
,
UPS
,
AVRs
, and
BMS
is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
Familiar with
hospital-grade electrical equipment
and
fire safety standards
.
Work Conditions:
On-site role with
rotational shifts
, including
night shifts, weekends, and emergency call duties
.
May be required to work in
high-risk zones
(ICU, COVID wards, etc.) using appropriate
PPE
.
Preferred Skills:
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Knowledge of hospital electrical safety norms and emergency preparedness.
