The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in a power plant facility. This role ensures the safe and reliable operation of power generation and distribution systems while adhering to safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components including motors, transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, lighting systems, wiring, and control systems.
Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.
Troubleshoot electrical faults and perform root cause analysis on system failures.
Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals.
Operate and maintain electrical testing instruments (e.g., multimeters, insulation testers, clamp meters, thermal cameras).
Ensure compliance with national and local electrical codes and plant safety regulations.
Support plant shutdowns, start-ups, and emergency repairs as needed.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs and service reports.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical systems or equipment.
Collaborate with mechanical and instrumentation teams for integrated system operations.
