The Electrician will be responsible for electrical installation, maintenance, wiring, troubleshooting and support of automation and control systems in industrial environments. You will work closely with electrical and automation engineers to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient electrical system operations throughout installation, commissioning, and maintenance phases.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Installation & Commissioning
Perform electrical wiring and installation of control panels, drives, motors, plc I/O, sensors, actuators, and other field devices.
Assist with installation and commissioning of automation equipment (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, Robots, etc.) under engineer supervision.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve electrical faults in systems, machinery, and equipment on shop floor.
Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical installations and industrial control panels.
Support production teams with electrical repairs to minimize downtime.
Panel Wiring & Testing
Panel wiring according to electrical schematics and project standards.
Test electrical circuits, continuity, insulation, and functionality using appropriate tools and testers.
Safety & Compliance
Adhere strictly to electrical safety standards and company EHS policies.
Identify and report electrical hazards, unsafe conditions, and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
Documentation
Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance actions, and electrical drawings/modifications.
Assist engineers in updating electrical schematics and documentation as needed.
Collaboration
Work cross-functionally with engineers, technicians, and project teams during installation and commissioning phases.
Communicate effectively about work progress, issues, and resolution plans.
Qualifications & Skills
Education
ITI / Diploma / Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience
Relevant industrial electrical experience (wiring, panel build, troubleshooting) -- preferred.
Hands-on exposure to industrial automation systems is an advantage.
Technical Skills
Good understanding of electrical systems, panel wiring, wiring schematics, cable management.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
Basic knowledge of PLCs, motors, drives, sensors, and industrial control circuits.
Familiarity with electrical testing tools (megger, multimeter, clamp meter).
