Job Description

Job Purpose:

To install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and components on ships under construction, repair, or refitting, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret

electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings

specific to ship systems. Install, connect, and test

wiring, control systems, lighting, panels

, and

marine-grade electrical equipment

. Perform routine and preventive maintenance on shipboard electrical systems. Conduct

insulation resistance tests, continuity checks

, and

voltage measurements

. Collaborate with

engineering, mechanical, and welding teams

to coordinate integrated system installations. Ensure adherence to

safety regulations (e.g., ISPS, IMO, and marine classification society standards)

. Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in

power distribution systems, navigation lights, emergency systems

, etc. Assist in

commissioning and final testing

of shipboard electrical installations. Maintain tools and test equipment and ensure proper storage and usage. Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Required Qualifications:

ITI/Diploma in Electrical or Marine Electrical Engineering. Minimum

2-5 years of experience

in a similar role, preferably in the shipbuilding or marine industry. Strong knowledge of

marine electrical systems, IMO standards

, and safe electrical practices. Ability to work from

heights, confined spaces

, and offshore if required.

Key Skills:
