Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrician to join our shipbuilding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components on various types of ships and marine vessels. The role requires a strong understanding of marine electrical systems, safety protocols, and the ability to work in challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Install and test electrical systems and equipment such as lighting, navigation systems, communication systems, power distribution panels, and control systems on marine vessels. Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and electrical schematics. Conduct fault finding, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and components. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on existing electrical systems. Install and terminate cables, connectors, and electrical hardware according to marine standards. Ensure compliance with maritime regulations and industry standards (ABS, DNV, IMO, etc.).

Requirements:

ITI Electrician Proven experience as an electrician in the shipbuilding or marine industry (typically 3+ years). In-depth knowledge of marine electrical systems and equipment. Ability to read and interpret engineering diagrams and electrical blueprints. Familiarity with international maritime electrical codes and standards. Physical fitness and ability to work in confined spaces, heights, and varying weather conditions. Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Willingness to work overtime or on shifts, as required by project timelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in Marine Electrical Systems. Experience with PLCs, automation systems, or shipboard power management systems. Knowledge of explosion-proof electrical installations (EX-rated zones).
