The Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in the manufacturing plant. The role ensures uninterrupted power supply, smooth operation of machinery, and adherence to safety standards during all electrical activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform regular maintenance and repair of electrical panels, motors, control systems, and wiring.
Troubleshoot breakdowns in machines, utilities, and electrical circuits to minimize downtime.
Handle installation and commissioning of new machines and electrical systems.
Maintain and update preventive maintenance schedules for electrical equipment.
Inspect and test electrical components to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Monitor and record power consumption, voltage levels, and other parameters.
Ensure all electrical work complies with safety regulations and statutory norms.
Assist in maintaining backup systems like DG sets, UPS, and inverters.
Support automation and control system maintenance (PLC, sensors, etc., if applicable).
Maintain spare parts inventory and coordinate with purchase for replacements.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of
industrial electrical systems, control circuits, and motor wiring
.
Ability to
read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
.
Hands-on experience with
LT/HT panels, contactors, relays, and PLC-based systems
.
Knowledge of
electrical safety standards
and best maintenance practices.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and time management skills.
Willingness to work in shifts and respond to breakdown emergencies.
Educational Qualification:
ITI / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Electrician Trade.
Experience Required:
2 to 5 years of experience as an
Electrician
in a
manufacturing or industrial setup
.
