Job Description

Electricians are skilled tradespeople responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in homes, businesses, and industrial settings. Key responsibilities include reading blueprints, diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues using testing equipment, installing and repairing wiring, lighting, and control systems, and ensuring all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other safety regulations.

Installation:

Installing and setting up electrical wiring, conduits, and lighting systems. Assembling and installing electrical components like circuit breakers, switches, outlets, and fixtures. Installing complex electrical control systems for buildings and machinery.

Maintenance & Inspection:

Conducting routine inspections of electrical components such as transformers, circuit breakers, and wiring to ensure safety and functionality. Performing preventive maintenance to avoid system breakdowns. Testing electrical systems to ensure they are safe and operating correctly.

Repair & Troubleshooting:

Diagnosing electrical problems using a variety of diagnostic tools and testing devices. Repairing or replacing faulty wiring, equipment, and components. Responding to emergency service calls for power issues.

Documentation & Compliance:

Reading and interpreting technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics. Ensuring all installations and repairs meet national and local electrical codes and building regulations. Documenting all repairs, modifications, and service work performed.

Technical Skills:

Using a range of hand and power tools effectively. Keeping up-to-date with advancements in electrical technology and safety protocols. Potentially training and mentoring apprentice electricians
