Job Description

Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildings and structures. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair. Ensure compliance with national and local electrical codes and safety regulations. Read blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics to determine the layout of electrical systems. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components. Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using appropriate testing equipment. Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes. Maintain tools and equipment and keep job sites clean and organized. Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other construction professionals. High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an electrician apprenticeship program or equivalent experience. Valid electrician license/certification (as required by state/local regulations). Proven experience as an electrician in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and safety procedures.
