Job Description

An involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildings, ensuring they meet safety codes by reading blueprints, troubleshooting faults, and using testing equipment to diagnose issues, while also performing maintenance and upgrading systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. Key duties include installing conduits, wiring, switches, and lighting; inspecting components like circuit breakers and transformers; repairing faulty parts; and staying updated on the (NEC).
Key Responsibilities

• Installation: Wire new buildings, install fixtures, control panels, lighting, outlets, and machinery components.
• Maintenance & Repair: Troubleshoot electrical issues, repair/replace wiring, fixtures, motors, and control systems.

• Inspection & Testing: Use testing devices to diagnose problems, ensure systems are safe, and inspect components like circuit breakers.

• Planning: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to plan layouts and work orders.

• Safety & Compliance: Adhere to local, state, and national electrical codes (NEC) and safety protocols.

• Documentation: Maintain records of repairs, installations, and maintenance.

Common Skills & Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Completion of a technical program or apprenticeship.
• Valid electrician license/certification (varies by state).
• Proficiency with hand/power tools and testing equipment.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and codes.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Valid driver's license.

Work Environment
