Key Responsibilities

Installation:

Installing wiring, lighting, control systems, and other electrical components in compliance with technical diagrams and blueprints.

Maintenance:

Performing routine checks and inspections on electrical systems and equipment to prevent malfunctions and ensure efficient operation.

Repair:

Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues, then repairing or replacing faulty wiring, fixtures, equipment, and components.

Testing:

Utilizing tools like voltmeters, ammeters, and thermal scanners to test electrical systems and identify problems.

Documentation:

Maintaining accurate records of all installation, maintenance, and repair work, including materials used and details of the servicing completed.

Safety Compliance:

Adhering to safety regulations and industry standards, as well as state and local building codes.

Collaboration:

Coordinating with other contractors, team members, and project managers to plan work and ensure projects are completed on time.

Blueprint Interpretation:

Reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to guide installations and repairs.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and diagrams, using hand and power tools, and operating testing equipment.

Knowledge:

Strong understanding of electrical theory, components, systems, and national electric codes.

Problem-Solving:

Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical problems effectively.

Communication:

Strong communication skills to coordinate with teams and address customer concerns.

Attention to Detail:

Methodical approach and meticulous work habits for precise and safe installations and repairs.

Physical Fitness:

Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing and working in confined spaces, often required in construction and maintenance.

Education/Training:

Often requires a diploma or certificate in a relevant electrical field, along with an apprenticeship program
