Key responsibilities

Installation

: Install wiring, conduit, lighting fixtures, control systems, and other electrical equipment in new construction projects.

Blueprint interpretation

: Read and understand blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to plan and execute installations accurately.

System maintenance

: Perform routine inspections and maintenance on electrical systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and safely.

Troubleshooting and repair

: Diagnose and fix electrical malfunctions by repairing or replacing components as needed.

Tool and equipment operation

: Safely use a variety of hand and power tools, such as conduit benders, screwdrivers, drills, and diagnostic tools like ammeters and voltmeters.

Safety compliance

: Ensure all work adheres to electrical codes, safety standards, and local regulations.

Collaboration

: Coordinate with general contractors, architects, engineers, and other trades to integrate electrical systems into the overall building design.
Required skills and qualifications

Proven knowledge of electrical theory, materials, and equipment. Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical drawings. Proficiency with hand and power tools. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Good physical stamina and ability to work in various conditions, including heights and cramped spaces. Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Relevant training and certifications, such as a diploma or apprenticeship completion.
