Job Description

The Electrical / Transformer / DG Certified Technician will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, transformers, and diesel generators to ensure reliable power supply and safety compliance. The candidate must hold relevant certifications and have hands-on experience in industrial or commercial electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Transformer Maintenance:

Inspect, test, and maintain transformers as per standard procedures. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of power transformers and distribution transformers. Monitor oil levels, insulation, and temperature of transformers.

Diesel Generator (DG) Operation & Maintenance:

Operate, inspect, and maintain DG sets for optimal performance. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults in DGs. Conduct regular load tests and ensure compliance with operational standards.

Electrical Systems Maintenance:

Maintain and repair electrical panels, switchgears, circuit breakers, and wiring. Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and regulations. Respond promptly to power failures or electrical breakdowns.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain logbooks, maintenance records, and service reports. Prepare reports on equipment performance, faults, and preventive maintenance schedules.

Safety & Compliance:

Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Ensure all work complies with statutory regulations and company policies. Participate in safety drills and electrical audits.

Qualifications & Certifications:

ITI/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Certified in handling transformers, DGs, and electrical installations (e.g., Licensed Electrician Certificate, DG Operator Certificate). Minimum [3] years of experience in maintenance and operation of transformers and DG sets.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, transformers, and DG operations. Ability to troubleshoot electrical faults and perform preventive maintenance. Familiarity with safety standards, electrical codes, and regulatory compliance. Good documentation and reporting skills. Ability to work in shifts if required.

Experience:

Preferably [3-5] years of hands-on experience in industrial or commercial electrical maintenance.

Work Environment:

Industrial / Plant / Commercial building settings. Exposure to high voltage and heavy electrical equipment.
