Key Responsibilities
Testing and commissioning of electrical systems including:
Power Transformers
Switchgear (LV / MV / HV)
Protection Relays
Control & Relay Panels
Cables, CTs, PTs, and Earthing Systems
Perform pre-commissioning checks, functional testing, and energization activities.
Conduct relay testing (secondary injection, primary injection, end-to-end testing).
Read and verify SLDs, wiring diagrams, schematics, and test procedures.
Coordinate with site engineers, contractors, OEMs, and client representatives.
Identify faults during testing and support troubleshooting and rectification.
Prepare test reports, commissioning reports, and as-built documentation.
Follow electrical safety standards and site safety procedures.
Qualification
Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience
1 to 5 years of experience in electrical testing and commissioning.
Hands-on experience with relay testing kits (OMICRON, Megger, etc.) preferred.
Experience in substations, power plants, or industrial projects is an advantage.
Skills Required
Good knowledge of electrical protection systems and power fundamentals.
Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Familiar with testing instruments and safety practices.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Willing to travel and work at project sites.
Working Conditions
Site-based role.
Extended working hours during commissioning activities may be required.
