Electrical Testing Engineer - Rivera Coil Manufacturing Private Limited

Roles & Responsibilities

The Electrical Testing Engineer at

Rivera Coil Manufacturing Pvt. Ltd.

is responsible for executing advanced electrical diagnostic tests, ensuring the structural and dielectric integrity of high-capacity generator coils, stator bars, and refurbished electrical components.
The role demands a

technically competent, safety-disciplined, and analytically strong professional

capable of interpreting complex test data and upholding Rivera's quality benchmarks for 600 MW-class generator systems.

Core Functional Mandates

High-Voltage Electrical Testing

Perform advanced diagnostic tests on coils, top bars, and insulation systems, including:

TAN DELTA Test (Dissipation Factor Measurement)

AC High Voltage Withstand Test

DC Winding Resistance Test

Insulation Resistance (IR) & PI Test

Surge Comparison Test

Partial Discharge (if applicable)

Continuity & Polarity Verification

Ensure all tests follow OEM guidelines, IEC standards, and internal SOPs.

Test Setup, Calibration & Instrumentation

Prepare test benches, HV equipment, transformers, measuring devices, and safety grounding systems. Perform calibration checks, maintenance, and pre-test verification of all instruments. Configure test parameters with absolute precision to match material specifications, coil ratings, and customer requirements.

Quality Assurance & Technical Validation

Analyse test data to evaluate coil performance, dielectric strength, insulation behaviour, and conductor integrity. Identify abnormalities, deviations, and failure patterns with engineering judgement. Collaborate with

Engineering, Production, and QA/QC

teams for corrective actions, rework instructions, and test approval. Document NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and ensure corrective/preventive actions.

Documentation & Reporting

Prepare structured

Test Reports

, data sheets, calibration logs, and traceability documents. Maintain digital and manual test records for internal audits and client inspections. Ensure compliance with ISO, customer specifications, and Rivera's electrical testing standards.

Safety, Compliance & Risk Control

Execute all tests with

strict adherence to electrical safety protocols

, PPE usage, and HV safety controls. Implement safe grounding, isolation, barricading, and emergency shutdown procedures. Maintain a zero-incident, zero-deviation culture during high-voltage operations.

Cross-Functional Support

Coordinate with

Stores

for test consumables and insulated materials. Support Production during coil curing, pressing, and insulation processes where electrical confirmation is required. Ensure seamless communication with project teams for customer inspections and quality clearances.

Competency Framework

Strong understanding of

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Mandatory)

B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (Preferred)

0-3 years experience in

electrical testing, coil testing, motor/generator testing, or HV diagnostics

Experience in generator stator coil testing is an added advantage
