Roles & Responsibilities:

Installation:

Electrical technicians install new wiring, circuits, outlets, and electrical equipment within buildings and other structures.

Maintenance:

They perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.

Repair:

When electrical issues arise, technicians diagnose the problem, identify faulty components, and repair or replace them.

Troubleshooting:

They use various tools and techniques to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems in systems and equipment.

Reading Blueprints and Schematics:

Technicians interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to understand the layout and specifications of electrical systems.

Safety Compliance:

They adhere to all relevant electrical codes and safety regulations to ensure safe working practices and prevent hazards.

Collaboration:

Electrical technicians often work with other technicians, engineers, and contractors to complete projects and ensure the efficient functioning of electrical systems.

Documentation:

They maintain accurate records of all work performed, including parts used and maintenance schedules.

Training and Mentorship:

Senior technicians may train and mentor junior technicians, apprentices, or other staff.
