Job Description

The Electrician will be responsible for carrying out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems, machinery, and equipment within the manufacturing plant. The role ensures smooth plant operations, safety compliance, and minimal downtime.

A. Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of electrical systems, control panels, and manufacturing machinery. Troubleshoot faults in motors, drives, MCC panels, VFDs, PLC-based systems, wiring, and instrumentation. Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical components such as switches, relays, sensors, contactors, and transformers.

B. Installation & Commissioning

Install, test, and commission new machines, electrical panels, and plant utility equipment. Ensure proper wiring, earthing, cabling, and electrical load balancing during installations.

C. Safety & Compliance

Follow all electrical safety standards, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and statutory compliance. Maintain proper housekeeping, safety tagging, and documentation as per audit requirements. Support energy conservation initiatives and maintain safe operation of all equipment.

D. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain logs of maintenance activities, breakdown records, and spare consumption. Assist in maintaining AMC records and coordinating with external service providers. Report equipment failures and recommend corrective actions for long-term solutions.

3. Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, PLC controls, VFDs, MCC/DB panels. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams. Hands-on experience in troubleshooting motors (AC/DC), drives, and industrial control systems. Good understanding of safety practices and statutory electrical rules. Basic understanding of mechanical systems (preferred).

4. Qualifications & Experience

Qualification:

ITI Electrician / Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

Experience:

2-5 years in electrical maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial plant.

Certifications:

Wireman license / Electrical supervisor license (preferred).
