Electrical Shift In-Charge - DRI Plant

Electrical Manager / Maintenance Head

Location

DRI (Direct Reduced Iron) Plant

Job Purpose

To ensure safe, reliable, and continuous operation of all electrical systems in the DRI plant during the assigned shift, minimizing downtime and supporting production targets.

Key Responsibilities operations & Maintenance

Oversee operation and maintenance of electrical systems for

DRI kilns, RMHS, AFBC/WHRB, compressors, pumps, fans, conveyors

, etc. Monitor and maintain

HT/LT panels, MCCs, PCCs, transformers, VFDs, soft starters

, and switchgear. Attend and troubleshoot electrical breakdowns to ensure minimum plant downtime. Ensure smooth shift handover with proper logging of electrical issues and actions taken.
Shift Management

Lead and supervise electricians and technicians during the shift. Allocate manpower effectively for preventive and breakdown maintenance. Coordinate with

operations, mechanical, and instrumentation teams

for plant issues.
Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with

electrical safety standards, LOTO procedures, and statutory norms

. Conduct toolbox talks and enforce use of PPE. Ensure safe isolation and energization of equipment.
Preventive Maintenance

Execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules. Identify recurring problems and suggest corrective actions. Maintain records of maintenance activities and breakdown analysis.
Documentation & Reporting

Maintain shift logbooks, breakdown reports, and daily status reports. Assist in audits, inspections, and statutory compliance documentation.
Continuous Improvement

Suggest energy-saving initiatives and reliability improvements. Support commissioning and modification activities when required.
Key Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of

Qualification & Experience

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering

5-8 years

of experience in electrical maintenance Prior experience in

DRI / Steel / Power / Cement plant

Pay: ?25,000.00 - ?35,000.00 per month
