of solar power plants to ensure optimal efficiency, safety, and reliability. The role involves overseeing electrical systems, preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring compliance with statutory and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:1. Operation & Monitoring
Monitor daily plant performance using SCADA and other monitoring systems.
Track generation data, analyze performance trends, and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
Ensure continuous and efficient operation of inverters, transformers, and switchgear.
2. Maintenance Activities
Plan and execute
preventive and corrective maintenance
of electrical equipment including inverters, transformers, HT/LT panels, and switchyard equipment.
Inspect electrical systems for faults and coordinate necessary repairs or replacements.
Ensure regular calibration and testing of protection relays and metering equipment.
3. Troubleshooting & Fault Analysis
Diagnose electrical issues and lead root cause analysis for system failures or underperformance.
Implement corrective actions promptly to minimize downtime.
4. Safety & Compliance
Ensure adherence to
electrical safety protocols, HSE process.
Conduct toolbox talks and train site personnel on safety procedures.
Coordinate with DISCOMs, SLDCs, and other authorities for statutory compliance.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and spares consumption.
Prepare MIS reports for internal and external stakeholders.
6. Team Coordination & Vendor Management
Supervise technicians and contractors during maintenance and repair activities.
Manage procurement and inventory of electrical spares and consumables.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of
solar PV systems, electrical equipment, and grid connectivity
.
Expertise in
protection systems, relays, SCADA, and PLC-based systems
.
Analytical and problem-solving skills for quick decision-making.
Good communication and leadership skills to manage field teams.
Proficiency in
MS Office, AutoCAD, and plant monitoring software
.
Qualifications & Experience:
B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
(Diploma holders with relevant experience can also apply).
2-5 years of experience in O&M of
utility-scale solar power plants
or renewable energy projects.
Knowledge of
HT/LT systems, grid codes, and electrical safety standards
in India.
