ME (Preferred) or B. Tech (Minimum) in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
Experience:
12 to 20 years of experience in Electrical design for EPC projects, preferably in water, industrial water, sewage water, and desalination treatment plants.
Essential Skill Sets:
Minimum 3 years of experience in a Lead Engineering role.
Proven ability to independently manage at least 2 EPC projects.
Hands-on experience in preparing RFQs, conducting technical bid evaluations, and negotiating with vendors.
Leadership skills for attending client and consultant meetings and addressing their comments.
Capability to mentor the Engineering and modelling team.
Hands on exposure in International standards and requirement.
Required Job Knowledge: The candidate must have hands-on experience and expertise in the following areas and be responsible for the listed engineering activities:
Extensive experience in EPC projects for electrical design, including understanding project scope, planning, manpower management, preparing deliverable lists, and guiding the team.
Proficiency in L3 scheduling and monitoring progress and productivity.
Design knowledge of EHV, HV, and LV electrical power distribution systems.
Designing and preparing SLDs for EHV, HV, and LV systems.
Preparing sizing calculations and selecting transformers, switchgears, starters, VFDs, soft starters, FBT/ATS, DG, NGR, cables, cable trays, battery and charger systems, UPS systems, lighting, earthing, and lightning systems.
Knowledge and experience in selecting protection relays and metering systems.
Preparing substation switchgear general arrangements, transformer yard layouts, and substation cable cellar arrangement drawings.
Preparing technical specifications (PR/MR) for transformers, switchgears, starters, VFDs, soft starters, FBT/ATS, DG, NGR, cables, cable trays, battery and charger systems, lighting, earthing, lightning, and UPS systems.
Reviewing vendor technical offers, capturing all technical requirements, and coordinating with the purchase department.
Conducting detailed design reviews of vendor documents, data sheets, GAs, interface requirements, and closing comments with vendors.
Participating in vendor document approvals at client/consultant offices and finalizing technical requirements as per the project.
Preparing layout drawings for cable racks, cable routing, earthing, lighting, hazardous areas, and lightning layouts.
Experience in preparing and reviewing motor schematics, characteristic curves, control logics, control circuits, and interfaces for ECS and DCS requirements.
Experience in various energy efficiency applications for motors and transformers, and process plant-specific power consumption.
Knowledge of switchgear components as per type-2 coordination charts.
Preparing department scope matrices, design review plans, design risk matrices, and identifying deviation scopes.
Knowledge of preparing cable schedules, electrical load lists, ECS IO lists, drive lists, alarm and annunciation lists.
Experience in handling various power system studies using ETAP/SPELECTRICAL.
Knowledge of substation automation systems and process plants (ECS/PLC/DCS).
Inter-departmental coordination with Process, Civil, Mechanical, Piping, Instrumentation, HVAC, Fire & Safety.
Knowledge and preparation of electrical 3D models and involvement in clash analysis.
Close interaction with other business units for timely submission of technical documents.
Familiarity with codes and standards such as IS, IEC, IE-Regulations, IEEE, CEA, OISD, API, and CPHEEO manuals, and other power distribution system design standards.
Coordination and support for the project team to ensure timely approval of design documents.
