Qualification:
Diploma / B.E. in Electrical Engineering
Job Purpose:
To ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operation of all electrical equipment and systems at the plant by executing preventive and corrective maintenance, minimizing breakdowns, and supporting continuous plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance:
Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all electrical systems (motors, MCC panels, transformers, VFDs, lighting systems, etc.).
Conduct routine inspections to identify potential failures and take proactive corrective actions.
2. Breakdown & Corrective Maintenance:
Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults in production and utility equipment with minimal downtime.
Maintain root cause analysis reports for breakdowns and suggest improvement actions.
3. Equipment & System Management:
Supervise maintenance of LT/HT panels, transformers, switchgear, and distribution systems.
Ensure proper functioning of control panels, PLCs, relays, and instrumentation interfaces.
Coordinate with the utility team for electrical supply to boilers, chillers, and compressors.
4. Safety & Compliance:
Ensure adherence to all electrical safety standards and statutory norms.
Maintain documentation for energy audits, inspection reports, and statutory records.
Support plant safety initiatives and participate in hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRA).
5. Continuous Improvement & Support:
Work with production and engineering teams for process improvement and energy-saving initiatives.
Maintain inventory of critical electrical spares and support procurement planning.
Provide training to technicians and operators on electrical safety and equipment handling.
Skills & Competencies:
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of electrical drawings, circuits, and control systems.
Expertise in troubleshooting motors, drives, PLCs, and power systems.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance software or ERP modules.
Behavioral Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
Attention to detail and adherence to timelines.
Teamwork and effective communication with cross-functional teams.
Operational Skills:
Maintenance planning and documentation.
Vendor coordination and supervision of contractors.
Safety Awareness:
Understanding of plant safety protocols and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
