Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced

Estimate & Costing Electrical Engineer

for power projects. The role involves preparing accurate cost estimates, BOQs, and tenders for electrical works while ensuring technical and commercial compliance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Estimation & Costing

Prepare detailed cost estimates for power projects including substations, transmission lines, and distribution works. Analyze tender documents, drawings, and technical specifications. Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantities) and cost breakups. Rate analysis for materials, labor, and equipment. Prepare comparative statements for vendor quotations.

Tendering & Budgeting

Support tender preparation, submission, and bid evaluations. Coordinate with design, procurement, and execution teams for cost inputs. Assist in budget preparation and cost control during project execution. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.

Coordination & Documentation

Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors for pricing. Maintain estimation records, cost data, and tender documentation. Support contract negotiation and clarification meetings.

Compliance & Reporting

Ensure compliance with technical standards, client specifications, and safety norms. Prepare reports related to estimation, costing, and project status.

Required Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of electrical systems for power projects (HT/LT, substations, transmission & distribution). Expertise in estimation, costing, BOQ preparation, and rate analysis. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications. Proficiency in MS Excel and estimation tools/software. Good analytical, coordination, and communication skills.

Qualifications & Experience

B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering. 3-8 years of relevant experience in estimation & costing for power projects.

Preferred Experience

Experience in EPC / power infrastructure projects. Knowledge of tendering for government and private utilities.
