Job Description

An Electrical Engineer in a township setting is typically responsible for designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems within the town's infrastructure, buildings, and utilities.

Responsibilities:

Design and Implementation:

Developing and implementing plans for electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and other electrical infrastructure.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Overseeing the maintenance and repair of existing electrical systems, including troubleshooting and resolving electrical problems.

Testing and Inspections:

Conducting tests and inspections of electrical systems and equipment to ensure they meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Compliance:

Ensuring projects meet safety regulations and electrical engineering codes.

Project Management:

Managing electrical projects from design to completion, including coordinating with contractors and other project team members.

Documentation:

Preparing and maintaining technical documentation, such as drawings, specifications, and reports.

Communication:

Communicating with clients, contractors, and other project team members to address technical questions and issues.

Technical Leadership:

Providing technical guidance and support to technicians and other team members.

Cost Estimation:

Preparing cost estimates for electrical projects.
Specific Tasks:

Managing power generation, transmission, and distribution. Designing and implementing electrical systems for buildings, such as lighting, heating, and ventilation. Working with renewable energy sources. Developing electrical design plans and schematics. Performing load calculations and ensuring system performance. Integrating electrical systems into multi-disciplinary designs. Supervising technicians and craftspeople. Testing installations and systems. Liaising with clients and other stakeholders. Managing maintenance programs.
