Job Purpose:

To design, plan, supervise, and ensure the safe installation and functioning of electrical systems on board ships. The role includes managing projects, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring compliance with marine electrical standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and review

shipboard electrical systems

, including power distribution, lighting, alarms, navigation, communication, and automation systems. Develop and interpret

technical drawings, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams

, and equipment layouts. Supervise installation, integration, and testing of electrical systems as per project specifications and timelines. Ensure compliance with

IMO, SOLAS, IEC, and classification society standards

(e.g., ABS, DNV, IRS). Prepare and maintain technical documentation such as

load calculations, cable schedules, and equipment specifications

. Coordinate with

mechanical, piping, and structural teams

to ensure smooth integration of systems. Oversee

pre-commissioning and commissioning

activities including FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and HAT/SAT (Harbor/Sea Acceptance Tests). Assist in

procurement of electrical equipment

by preparing technical specifications and evaluating vendor offers. Troubleshoot and resolve design or installation issues on-site. Monitor and ensure adherence to

project deadlines, budget, and safety protocols

Required Qualifications:

B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical or Marine Engineering

Minimum

3-7 years

of experience in electrical systems design or supervision in shipbuilding or marine industry Sound understanding of

marine electrical codes

, classification rules, and safety standards Experience with

AutoCAD, EPLAN

, or electrical design software preferred Knowledge of

PLC/SCADA systems

, automation, and control panel integration is an advantage

Key Skills:

Project management and technical supervision Electrical system design and marine engineering knowledge Problem-solving and decision-making under deadlines Familiarity with test equipment, load balancing, fault diagnostics Team coordination and communication Understanding of IP ratings, marine cable routing, and EMC requirements

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
