Responsible for designing, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment on ships, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop electrical systems, power distribution, and control systems for ships.
Prepare and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Supervise installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical equipment on vessels.
Ensure compliance with international maritime standards, class regulations, and safety norms.
Coordinate with design, mechanical, and production teams for integration of electrical systems.
Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and fault analysis of electrical circuits and equipment.
Prepare technical reports, documentation, and support project planning and execution.
Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and cost requirements.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of shipboard electrical systems (power generation, distribution, lighting, navigation, communication, automation, etc.).
Proficiency in AutoCAD / EPLAN or other electrical design software.
Familiarity with classification society rules (Lloyd's Register, DNV, ABS, etc.) and IMO standards.
Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and control systems.
Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
Experience in shipbuilding, marine engineering, or offshore industry preferred.
Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, and automation systems is an added advantage.
Freshers with strong academic knowledge may also be considered for trainee positions.
