The MEP Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, coordination, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems within buildings and infrastructure projects. This includes power distribution, lighting, low-current systems, and compliance with relevant codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design electrical systems for buildings (power, lighting, grounding, lightning protection)
Prepare electrical drawings, layouts, load calculations, and specifications
Coordinate with Mechanical, Plumbing, and other disciplines (MEP coordination)
Review shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements
Ensure compliance with local and international codes (NEC, IEC, BS, etc.)
Conduct site inspections and monitor installation work
Support testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems
Identify and resolve design or site-related technical issues
Assist in cost estimation and project planning
