The Electrical Engineer (Maintenance) will support the operation and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment, and utilities within the plant. The role focuses on preventive and breakdown maintenance, ensuring continuous and safe plant operations under the supervision of senior engineers. This is an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates to build strong technical foundations in industrial electrical maintenance.
Assist in preventive maintenance schedules for electrical panels, motors, drives, transformers, and control systems.
Support troubleshooting and rectification of electrical breakdowns under supervision.
Record maintenance activities, downtime data, and corrective actions in maintenance logs.
Ensure all tools and testing instruments are properly calibrated and maintained.
2. Equipment & System Monitoring
Monitor daily operation of electrical equipment such as lighting systems, motors, control circuits, and power distribution boards.
Check voltage, current, and power factor readings and report any abnormalities.
Assist in identifying potential areas of power loss or inefficiency.
3. Safety & Compliance
Adhere strictly to electrical safety protocols, PPE use, and lockout-tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Support regular inspections and safety audits of electrical installations.
Ensure compliance with internal maintenance SOPs and statutory electrical standards.
4. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain records of maintenance schedules, breakdown reports, and spares usage.
Support preparation of maintenance checklists, inspection reports, and energy consumption logs.
Assist in tracking spares inventory and raising requisitions when required.
5. Continuous Improvement & Learning
Learn equipment specifications, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts.
Participate in training sessions on PLCs, automation basics, and electrical system troubleshooting.
Contribute suggestions for improving reliability and reducing maintenance downtime.
Qualifications
Education:
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (recent graduate or up to 1 year of experience).
Experience:
0-1 year (freshers preferred).
Skills & Competencies
Basic knowledge of industrial electrical systems, circuits, and control panels.
Understanding of transformers, motors, starters, relays, MCCs, and VFDs.
Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Willingness to learn and adapt to plant maintenance practices.
