Position Summary
The Electrical Engineer defines and maintains design standards, contributes to R&D initiatives, and supports the development of innovative subsea/offshore systems. This role involves consulting on new client-driven designs, performing detailed engineering analysis, and supporting supplier qualification and product assessments. The engineer collaborates across teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and promote continuous improvement. Active participation in design reviews, safety practices, and stakeholder communication is essential.
Duties And Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL

• Perform conceptual and detailed design work, engineering calculations, and analysis in support of the development of subsea/offshore systems.
• Contribute to design reviews and review the work carried out by other engineers.
• Be aware of technical procedures for assembly, testing, and operations.
• Study, interpret and implement requirements from industry codes and regulatory authorities.
• Be knowledgeable about Power/Electromagnetic Analysis of Low Voltage/Medium Voltage/ High Voltage Systems as per industry standards. Harmonic studies of electrical systems.
• Work with Proposals Engineering and Sales/Project Engineering & Management to support bids; creation of procurement specifications and performance reports.
• Work with sub-contractors and Oceaneering personnel to qualify splicing techniques.
• Evaluate and source testing and manufacturing equipment.
• Review and disposition issues and non-conformances that may happen within production, testing/termination, vendors, warehouse, etc.systems and design alternatives
• Adopt and maintain a strong, ever-present, and overriding culture of safety in all facets of professional activities and actively help manage and promote Oceaneering's HSE policies and practices.
• Define functional processes and work towards continuous improvement
• Share regular updates about work with Stakeholders.
• Prepare & conduct technical trainings
• Keep abreast of industry trends and issues
• Demonstrates high level of initiative to accomplish individual objectives assigned as well as team goals
• Should be open to travel as per business needs

Qualifications
REQUIRED

• Graduation (bachelor's degree) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree with 2-3 years of relevant industry experience
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret electrical schematics, technical procedures/reports, governmental regulations, client specifications, and industry specifications.

DESIRED

• Knowledge of the following industry codes: API 17E, ICEA S-95-658, ISO 13628-5, IEEE, NFPA, NEC, UL, etc.
• Familiarity with Flux2D/ANSYS Maxwell Electrical Analysis Tool
• Familiarity with Multiphysics packages such as Comsol for thermal and electrical analysis
• Familiarity with cable design packages such as optem
• Familiarity with CAD packages such as AutoCAD
