Job Description

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing electrical systems for commercial, residential, or industrial projects. The role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, combined with proficiency in AutoCAD to create accurate and high-quality electrical drawings and schematics.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical System Design:

Design and draft electrical system layouts, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics using AutoCAD, adhering to industry standards, codes, and project specifications.

Collaboration with Architects & Engineers:

Work closely with architects, structural engineers, and other team members to integrate electrical systems into overall project plans.

Circuit Design & Load Calculation:

Perform calculations for load requirements, power distribution, and energy efficiency, ensuring the electrical system meets the design and operational requirements.

Creation of Electrical Drawings:

Generate detailed electrical plans, including power distribution, lighting, outlets, switches, and panelboard layouts.

Documentation:

Prepare and update electrical drawings, schedules, and specifications. Ensure that all designs comply with local, state, and national electrical codes.

Revisions & Modifications:

Update drawings and designs based on feedback from clients, contractors, or regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with changing requirements.

Site Visits & Inspections:

Occasionally visit job sites to assess electrical needs and ensure that the electrical designs are being implemented correctly.

Project Management Support:

Assist project managers in ensuring the electrical components of the project stay on track, within budget, and meet quality standards.

Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving:

Identify issues with electrical systems and work on solutions for optimal system performance.

Review and Quality Assurance:

Review designs for accuracy, completeness, and safety compliance.
