Job Description

An electrical draftsman working with transformers creates detailed technical drawings and schematics for the manufacturing, installation, and maintenance of electrical transformer systems. Their responsibilities include collaborating with engineers, ensuring designs meet specifications and safety standards, using CAD software to produce drawings with precise dimensions and materials, and performing electrical calculations to meet customer requirements like losses and efficiency. They also document changes, provide technical support during manufacturing, and sometimes visit sites to ensure correct implementation. Key roles and responsibilities

Create technical drawings:

Develop detailed technical drawings, schematics, and layouts for electrical systems and components, including transformers. Use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create 2D and 3D models and store them digitally.

Collaborate and communicate:

Work with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to interpret project requirements and resolve design issues. Explain drawings and technical specifications to construction and manufacturing teams.

Ensure compliance and accuracy:

Review and analyze project specifications and engineering documents to ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulations. Perform electrical calculations to define parameters like voltage, losses, and efficiency according to customer needs. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Manage documentation and revisions:

Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and project documentation. Update and modify designs based on feedback or site visits.

Provide technical support:

Provide technical guidance during the manufacturing process. Visit installation sites to gather information, verify existing conditions, and ensure the design is implemented correctly.

Support the product lifecycle:

Prepare technical specifications for components like tap changers and bushings. Assist in estimating quantities for proposals and tenders.
