: Electrical Design & Estimation Engineer - Diesel Generator Set

Role Overview

Responsible for designing, selecting, and estimating diesel generator sets (DG Sets) and associated electrical systems, ensuring compliance with technical, safety, and client specifications. This role involves application engineering & preparing accurate estimations

Key Responsibilities

Design & Application Engineering

Develop electrical designs for DG sets, switchgear, control panels, and synchronization systems. Prepare single-line diagrams (SLDs), load calculations, and cable sizing. Ensure designs comply with

IEC, IEEE, NFPA, ISO, and local regulations

Estimation & Proposal Engineering

Prepare detailed cost estimations, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and technical proposals for DG sets and auxiliary systems. Evaluate vendor quotes and coordinate with suppliers for optimal techno-commercial offers. Support sales and business development teams with technical clarifications during tendering. Perform cost optimization while maintaining with global standards

Compliance & Documentation

Prepare technical datasheets, compliance statements, and documentation for client submissions. Maintain updated knowledge of

data center standards (TIA-942, ASHRAE, Uptime Institute)

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong knowledge of

diesel generators, switchgear, LV/MV power systems, and controls

. Proficiency in

AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar electrical design tools

. Expertise in

load analysis, DG sizing, synchronization, and paralleling concepts

. Ability to prepare accurate

technical & commercial proposals

. Familiarity with

data center electrical infrastructure

(UPS, STS, bus ducts, PDUs, chillers). Strong communication and client-handling skills.

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech)

or equivalent.

3-7 years

of relevant experience in

DG set application, design, and estimation

(preferably in data center or critical infrastructure projects). Exposure to global OEMs like

Cummins, Caterpillar, MTU, KOEL, Perkins, FG Wilson

is desirable.
Job Type: Permanent

Pay: ₹14,824.96 - ₹68,026.82 per month
