Exp in - 2-3 years
Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests prior to, and during construction phases
Work with commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems
Travel to sites for site review and work with onsite field engineers, provide engineering evaluations, electrical systems audits, and startup as needed
Attend project design team meetings
Perform electrical systems design and calculations, electrical sizing and selection bulk material take-offs
Develop electrical equipment specifications/datasheets, electrical system drawings (single line diagram, control schematics, etc) and electrical layout drawings (lighting layouts)
Perform technical bid evaluation for electrical equipment
Review vendor equipment design/data
Assists in creating design specifications considering application, cost, weight, performance, product life, manufacture, assembly and service
Learns team roles and how to contribute towards team goals
Qualifications for electrical design engineer
Creates electrical long leads and Cost Schedule Impact Logs (CSILs.)
Submits Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs, RFWs)
Interfaces with customers and contracts to resolve customer related issues
Broad basis of knowledge for electrical facilities design (power distribution, controls, NEC, IT/Comm, cabling, Air Conditions Systems
Comfort and ability to use all types of electronic test equipment
Knowledge about codes that pertain to hazardous locations, motors, cables
